BRAMLEY 2010 RACE – CANCELLED FOR 2021
It is with great regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the Bramley 2010 races due to take place on Sunday 14th February 2021.
It is becoming increasingly unlikely that restrictions in place due to the ongoing pandemic will be eased by next February, so sadly we will be unable to run the event. The size of the race HQ, the number of competitors/ volunteers and availability of car parking will simply not allow for sufficient social distancing to hold the race safely & in line with current UK Athletics guidance.
We looked at re- scheduling the race for later in 2021. However, it has proved impossible to find a suitable date within what looks like being a very busy race calendar in late summer/ autumn, also bearing in mind we are totally reliant on the availability of both our volunteers and of the school to provide our race headquarters.
We appreciate this will be another huge disappointment & very frustrating for runners who have already had numerous races cancelled this year. The committee are likewise very disappointed that the race will not go ahead for a second year.
We can confirm all entries taken for the cancelled 2020 race, currently deferred to 2021, will be deferred again to 2022. Should you be unable to run in 2022, you can transfer your place to another runner at no charge. To change the details of the runner please log in to your account and change the details to the new runner – to log in you will need to use the details that were sent in your original confirmation email.
We look forward to welcoming you all again in 2022, date will be 20th February 2022.
In the meantime, Reading Roadrunners are looking at holding a virtual race series after Christmas. Further details to follow.
Best regards & keep safe,
Phil Reay (Chairman Reading Roadrunners)
