Your Committee

General Secretary
Mike Worsfold

My wife and I have been living in Reading since 2021, but I've worked here for a decade or more. We have an adult son living down in Cornwall and try to get down to see him as often as our schedules allow. I've previously been a Cub Scout leader, and have helped with my son's swimming club, notably in the results processing of galas. I also got to be a Games Maker at London 2012, so I've got quite a varied volunteering resume. Taking on the Reading Roadrunners General Secretary role in 2025 has helped me to get to know more people in the club and also get an insight into how running clubs are organised. On the running front I prefer trails and cross country with distances up to 10k. I've done a couple of marathons in the past, but think I will stick to shorter distances now. In what spare time I have, I like to garden, and have also started to learn the guitar and am the sound engineer/roadie for a local covers band Code Red.

Chair
Chris Manton

I've been a member since 2016 and running is big part of my life between Roadrunners and being Co-ED of California Country parkrun. I probably prefer road or track to trail but being a member helps me be ready for all three! Running (and membership of Roadrunners) is a family affair and I hope by membership of the committee to represent different perspectives in the running of the club

Going from couch potato to marathon runner was never on my bingo card but, 7 years later, here we are! I joined in 2017 after catching the running bug from my husband (& fellow RR) and I have never looked back. The club gave me so much in the form of coaching, support, and friendship that I want to give something back to it. I have previously been on the Committee as Social Secretary, spent time as Women’s Captain, and also occasionally LiRF! I like to get stuck in and involved so in my role of ex-officio I will support the Committee as best I can.

I’ve been a member of the club for 12 years.
I’m happiest outdoors & when I’ve got plenty fun stuff in my diary to look forward to. I’m passionate about working with the Coaches & Leaders in Running Fitness to help deliver a variety of enjoyable & challenging sessions for our Members.
